I had an ocular in Shang Mactan and this restaurant was said to be one of their bests so I gave it a try. Delicious food, staff were accommodating and generous servings.

What we had:
Sweet and sour soup, yang chow rice, roast chicken, pork knuckles, tiger prawn, chilled glutinous rice with mango filling

What I loved:
Great great Chinese food. For Shangri-La price, ToS I guess is most affordable. Serving is generous, but most of all the service was commendable. Very professional, accommodating, warm staff here. They change your plates as needed, and even offer to help with the prawn. (I have allergies to shrimp but the tiger prawn my friend had sure did look so delicious!) The roast chicken ang yang chow was so good! And the mochi-like dessert with fresh mangoes was a bonus. 🥰

Came here just to taste Asian food and left with an forgettable Asian hospitality. The staff were really friendly, gave good recommendations and accommodated our request. Must try is salt and pepper deep fried tofu and glutenous rice with mango dessert is to die for. One of the best restaurant I have been to when in Cebu

serving time was a bit long. took about 25minutes? but when the food arrived the quality and taste made up for impatience i already had (was really hungry).

food is very good. serving is small but the recipe and just the right taste in each dish is lovely. salt and pepper spareribs was tender and crisp. diced black pepper beef was peppered just right.

a bit pricey but every dish was given thought and preparation so you can't really complain.

So-so chinese food. Xo fried rice tasted like they used “old” rice. Serving took 30 mins and counting on a wednesday afternoon, 1:30pm. Making my review now cause the food is taking way too long. We just ordered 3 kinds of dimsum and 1 fried rice.

They have very generous serving of xo sauce though. But i wouldnt come here for the chinese food.

In an effort not to leave the resort, my husband and I ate at most of the restaurants in Shang Mactan. Comfort is the name of the game.

Tea of Spring is their Chinese restaurant and we ate a light lunch in between swimming. We actually only ordered the sweet and sour pork with pineapples and the Tea of Spring XO fried rice. Some of their dishes come in small or medium sizes. We got small for both the pork and the rice and we felt full enough after. It might be bitin for those who are really hungry though. We really liked both of the dishes we ordered-- the fried rice is highly recommended.

There are restaurants which make you feel like a king with your food and there are restaurants which make you feel like a king in all aspects. Tea of spring falls in the latter.

Warm hospitality, great food, customised orders, you name it; they do it. Vegetarians will feel at ease at this place, non vegetarians have the whole menu to rejoice.

Pro- tip: Don't miss the Jasmine tea.

Angelie & Lisa kudos to your amazing services.

Hi -Fi from the little handsome boy 😁

My family decided to have dinner here on our first night at the hotel.  Indeed a Chinese restaurant since on entering the eatery, the interior designing - architecture and decorations - highly reflected the Chinese culture.  And the menu offers the best of the Chinese cuisine.  It was priced a bit higher than other Chinese restaurants we have eaten, but remembering that we were inside a 5-star hotel did compensate for the cost.  But food taste was delicious too and loved the ambiance and services of the staff.

If you want authentic Chinese Cuisine, there's one place you can't miss. Tea of Spring at Shangri-la's Mactan Resort and Spa allows you to take a walk through China's unique and colorful history and culture with the help of their freshly prepared selections.
Most if not all of their dishes are wonderfully crafted under the watchful eyes of certified and very experenced chefs and food experts. Definitely one of the best ethnic restaurants in Cebu.

Good food at a relatively reasonable price. I say relatively reasonable bec it's really on the high side, but because it's in a 5 star hotel, then the price is not that expensive.

Tea of Spring is the classiest Chinese restaurant in Cebu. I had dinner here with some officemates before and the experience was priceless. The food was as authentic as it could be and the best part is that the service lived up to the Shang brand.

Our family had dinner here during our second night at Mactan Shangri-La. As the name suggests, Tea of Spring offers oriental cuisine. The interiors are reminiscent of well-known Chinese restaurants in Manila, with red lanterns hung throughout the place. The tables are big – perfect for any family gathering or celebrations. As can be expected, hot tea is served free and overflowing.

We ordered yang chow fried rice, braised minced beef with bean curd sauce, stewed pork ribs, fried chicken for the children, chicken noodle soup, and vegetable and seafood omelet.

I first tried the stewed pork ribs – it was tender enough but there was nothing splendid about the taste. The braised minced beef was also tender. It had a well-balanced sweet-salty taste but, nonetheless, also ordinary.

What I enjoyed most was the chicken noodle soup and the omelet. The egg noodles were very firm and tasted rich. The warm soup that was bursting with flavor was a good complement to the rich noodles. This dish had huge slices of shitake mushrooms and fresh Chinese lettuce. As for the omelet, well, you can never go wrong with any fried dish with egg.

One thing I discovered during that night was what my sister-in-law called “extraordinary sauce.” We really did not know what it was made of. It looked like the usual chili-garlic sauce in siomai joints but it tasted “funky” at first but it made any dish, whether meat or soup, really delicious.

I really would not consider it as a superb dinner, but it was, all in all, satisfying. Service was also good and fast. Plus, it was more affordable here as compared to Acqua.
