It's a nice place for some Yakiniku. The ambiance is nice and feels close to authentic but it gets kinda hot when you stay there too long, I don't think their AC is strong enough. But in terms of service, they are fast and staff is friendly. The food is good too (depending on how you cook as well).
I liked the place with the dim lighting & shoes-off-when-you-eat kind of thing. However, it can get a bit hot inside (I mean what do you expect? Each table, including yours, is cooking meat. Like duh. Haha)
They serve a variety of meat which you can grill on your table but they also have ready-to-eat dishes for the lazy cookers.
Just make sure to order everything beforehand because their staff is not very attentive & service is quite slow. It took us four follow-ups just to get our drinks. LOL
Oh, and they don't have a lot of choices for dessert.. just ice cream which you can scoop yourself. Available in 4 flavors: mango, chocolate, vanilla & ube.
But would I come back? Hmm, yeah probably.
their food is something that prompted me of going back again and again..
however.. staffs are not as friendly 😊...hope that they could show more genuine smiles and greetings
By far, the best yakiniku in Cebu. Although sometimes, service can be quiet slow due to the number of waiters/waitress and the number of diners. But I love how everything is served at your table and you don't have to walk around buffet tables. Sashimi is fresh and as well as other seafood that they serve. Can't wait to go back to this place.
Aside from the dirty old Japanese guys who hit on you and rub your back, this place is really good for an Eat all you can. Affordable price and the beef isn’t so bad. Good for big events.
When you enter the restaurant, you will feel the Japanese atmosphere almost immediately. From our experience, some waitresses would greet you in Japanese. The setting and ambiance also feels accurately like the ones you see on TV. If not for the Filipino faces you see around, you’d actually feel like you’re in a foreign country.
We ordered Prawns (Kibi Yaki), Short Rib Soup (Karubi Soup), Fried Rice (Chakan), Angus Beef (Marinated and not Marinated), Marinated Chicken, Mixed Sushi, Kimchi, and Plain Rice. For our drinks, we ordered their Iced Tea.
We’ve been through other Korean, Japanese, and Asian Fusion restaurants, but this by far, is our favorite Kimchi. We love how it leaves a certain kick of spiciness that doesn’t stay long enough to burn your mouth. Just perfectly balanced flavors and freshness. We personally love eating this with any meat or rice.
We personally think this might not be the best Japanese restaurant there is, but we can honestly say that this is one of the first place we would go to if we suddenly had the urge to eat some Yakiniku in Cebu.
Surely would recommend this place to people who are deciding between unlimited authentic Korean and Japanese foods. Even though its unlimited the quality of the food would not be compromised. From the angus beef, sashimis, makis, and to there ramens, EVERYTHIS IS GOOOD
Would give 5 stars but the place is kinda hot and smoky cause of poor ventilation.
TIP: Arrive early so that the servers will not be busy yet and can cater you diligently. 👌👍
The food is great! the meat is seasoned well, you don't need to dip it in a sauce. I love their angus beef and squid. I love it here! We will definitely come back for more!
Food:
My favorite, slightly, affordable eat-all-you can in Cebu. Everything tastes great. And the choices are excellent. I think you'd have to come back to taste everything. Hope they'll add more sashimi and maki dishes dishes.
Place:
The place was adequately comfortable, however their exhaust seems to be too weak to suck out all t smoke, so it expect to smell smokey afterwards.
Staff:
Service is sloooooooow. They're quite understaffed or overworked, because most of the staff seems to be unhappy or unwilling to serve you and we're hiding. I hope they improve on this. Best technique is to order everything you want at one go, so you don't have to wait that long.
The good thing about the meat and seafood that you grill at Wakamatsu is that it's been seasoned quite well by their kitchen staff, giving it quite a delicious taste after you've cooked it. They also offer sashimi and sushi rolls. However, they are often out of salmon, and for many people, the reason for choosing a japanese restaurant is the salmon selection. It's a bit disappointing to have a rather small selection of maki. Their ramen is not quite good as it has been adapted to suit the Filipino type of noodle soup and therefore not recommended if you were looking for that authentic japanese ramen taste. Their service is often slow and you'd have to remind the servers again and again to follow up on your order. As for the place, the ambience is nice and gives a japanese feel to where you are.
- FOOD. Tasty. U get to cook ur own food.
- SERVICE. It was kinda slow. We kept on following up our orders. Then, it turned out for every waitress we "followed up" to, they tend to place "another separate order". So we had so much on our table -- no worries though since we had it all covered 😂. But i think it's something to look into since they tend to double charge those w leftovers (or as their notices say so). I understand it was jam-packed that night and i think their waitresses were exhausted maybe. I suggest they smile more often though. :)
- THE PLACE. Gets too smokey when everybody's cooking, get ready to be teary eyed. I don't recommend bringing babies here especially months old. Maawa ka din sa lungs nila. :> andd.. When we got out, we really smell like bbq's, FYI 😂
Overall, it was a good experience naman. Will I come back? Yes. :)
Japanese buffet with a bit of Korean options. The price is really worth it! Everything is served to you. Just tell the waitress, and they’ll give it to you. Hassle free dining.
If you love Japanese food, grilling and you're not lazy then this could be the place for you. They serve one of the best meats in town and they're really tasty. But I'm really just a lazy bone and don't have much energy for grilling my own food. So, I'll just leave it there.
I love the variety of food they provide. Aside from the meat for grilling, they also have ramen, sushi, soups and other rice meals. My personal favorites are their plain and marinated angus beef, liver, tonkatsu ramen (although it's not authentic) and california maki 😊
Great value for your money considering their offering of an all-you-can eat Yakiniku. Expect this restaurant to get crowded during peak hours and seasons. The place could use some improvement on their ventilation and exhaust, for you will sure smell like BBQ after spending some time inside.
Food tastes fresh. Food tastes great! But personally considering the amount youve paid, I think for an eat-all-you-can restaurant, the menu is quite limited. Its sort of a Korean-Japanese fusion.
Value for food is good. Sometimes takes too long for food to be served (especially when there are a lot of people) Smoke is everywhere since proper ventilation should be in place. Overall okay experience. 👍🏼
Best Japanese buffet! Shoyu ramen, kani salad, angus beef 👍🏼 The place gets very crowded at night so make sure to get a reservation. Love to go there during lunch time -- less people.
Been here for many times specially my sister would invite me to eat there.. Plain Angus Beef and Squid is one the top of our list. California Maki is also one of my favorite..
Great food but food takes too long to arrive to our tables specially on weekends. Their marinated angus beef is definitely a must-try and their kimchi fried rice is good too!
Our favorite Yakiniku restaurant. Not so expensive Jap Restau, order all you can as long as you can finish everything. I suggest you go there with empty stomach. 😂 Their bibimbap is a must try. 👍🏼
Meat, sashimi, sushi, kimchi, ramen, etc. all you can. I enjoyed grilling with my boyfriend on our lunchdate without the worry of making us (especially my hair) smell bbq! :) i love the place! I love the unique dining set-up. It was my 2nd time and i'd definitely wanna go back! :) thank you for the best meal! :)
their lunch buffet is for 550php and strictly no leftover, otherwise, you'll pay double!
i always look upto eating here since i love korean and japanese foods! cooked pork kimchi is a must and ohh! don't miss the salmon maki... yummers! 😊
I looooove this place! Especially their California Maki and the marinated chicken. Not even the newly opened restaurants with yakiniku beats them.
I really was excited to try out their yakiniku that I ordered much more than I can consume. I thought that their servings were small, how wrong was I!
What my father, my sister and I ordered for grills were their angus beef with and without marinate and their pork. For their hotpot, we had the mixed choice. For sides, I ordered a spicy yakisoba and mango salad. We also had mixed sushi and California rolls. To down our foods, we had ordered two mango juices and an oolong tea for me.
I enjoyed grilling until I was so full I couldn't move any longer! But the experience was worth it. We got what we paid. Delicious meal indeed!
Best bang for the buck yakiniku shop in cebu. The meat is marinated well and not just plain sauce like other places. They have a good variety of dishes that makes the eat all you can worth it if you're not into yakiniku. This is by far my favorite yakiniku restaurant because of the price and value for customers.
The front of the restaurant is rather simple that you have to look carefully to see if the resto's open. Upon entering however, you notice that there are divisions for each table. You can choose a table where there are chairs to sit on and a table where you need to squat which makes it feel like the afterwork get-togethers shown in KDramas. The food selection is quite varied and delicious especially the Marinated Angus Beef and the Beef Tongue. We also ordered The Heart but it was slightly tough. The Pork Short Ribs also had a lot of fat that it burns easily so you really have to watch the grill. But pair it with their Kimchi and you'll feel heaven explode in your mouth. The shabu shabu was good as well but not as good as the one I tried in another resto. For the dessert, you are given two choices, kakigori (shaved ice with mango syrup) and ice cream stick (Kimy Jelly Tongue). I wanted to try the Kakigori but ended up choosing the Ice Cream. Oh well. The Php530 is very affordable considering the food options. I was so full from everything we ordered. Plus, I didn't smell like my food afterwards because of their exhaust mechanism.
