The place was nice and spacious. What I don’t like is that the crab should have various flavor. But overall, it was worth it.
I have to give the place a 5 star. Although the ambience or.place is nothing fancy, no aircon actually, but the food were all shockingly fantastic and satisfying. Like me, i am a seafood lover and this is the place to be. Though you can't find all types of seafood, the fact that 7 out of 10 viands are all seafood, it is already worth your money.
I was initially disappointed because my husband chose to dine here over the ever-so-luxurious Vikings buffet for his birthday. I was even more disappointed when I found out there were no crabs served but all of that changed when we started eating.
I love the food! I would say everything was worth the price which is P360/adult & P180 for kids between 4-7 y/o (but for some reason they only charged the adults when we came here, so thank you!)
The staff was very nice & accommodating. Service was fast too because they would automatically refill the food so you don't have to wait too long. Each refill was served hot also.
I have a lot more photos of the food but Zomato would only let me upload 10 for this review. Hmp. I'll upload the rest of the photos separately. The following food were served for dinner:
- fried rice & plain rice
- corn & egg soup
- spicy tahong (mussels)
- fresh oysters (or maybe steamed?)
- baked oysters with cheese & butter
- baked garlic cheese scallops
- shrimps
- tinolang aninikad
- pancit bam-i
- fried chicken
- grilled tuna
- crispy pork skin (like chicharon)
- humba
- fresh fruits: watermelon, pineapple
- dessert: ube halaya, biko
- steamed okra
- kinilaw na goso
- hipon
- ginamos
- drinks: water, mango juice, iced tea
- sauces: suka with sili, toyo with sili
- for sale drinks: liquor (red horse, san mig, etc), canned softdrinks, UCC coffee
I don't have any dislikes but the fried pork skin was a little too hard yet still delicious. I also wished the fresh oysters were fresher but I couldn't blame them, still good though. Especially the one with cheese.
The place is al fresco but they have function rooms with airconditioning. The restroom is okay, not that clean but they have working flushes and tissues which is good in case.. you know.
Staffs were really friendly and helpful. Prices changed to 359 php since November 4, 2018. Pretty good place for people who love crabs, scallops and baked talaba/steamed talaba. Luckily, we got to try their Tuna Panga (also unli) that night which doesn't happen often.
Unli seafoods! Yayy!! The ambiance of the restaurant may not be really that nice but it doesn't really matter because the food they offer can entice you. Delicious and affordable!!
Who says No to unli seafoods? I enjoyed this place because they served unli seafoods. From shrimps to scallops to talaba. Price is just right. Nasulit ko binayad ko. Cheesy scallops is yum3. A biy sad though for their talaba. I guess since it is pre opened, it's not that juicy anymore.
good value for money. it’s a great seafood buffet here in cebu. the crabs and baked scallops were delicious. i just hate the steamed talaba. they dont serve shrimp together with the crabs. the iced tea was bottomless. the waiters were polite and friendly. nonetheless, one should try.
Not for fancy eaters. The place isn't even instagrammable, just a plain old no-frills resto that has been around for awhile. Nothing special. But why do I come here at least once a month? Because they have affordable, unlimited SEAFOOD (with crabs for dinner). That's why.
I am a sucker for baked scallops and oysters with lots of cheese on top. In a typical resto, 10 pcs would cost around P100-150. I could eat 3 FULL plates of those (let's say each plate would have 20 pcs) and I'm not exagerrating- so imagine how much savings I could get in an eat-all-u-can rate of 315? And don't even get me started on the crabs. Oh no, not those small crabs where you can hardly eat any meat. I'm talking about the big ones. Flavor-wise, it's not that tasty and needs more zest but, well, crabs are crabs right? Are there any other restos having unli crabs with the same price asTongs? As far as I know, there's NONE. Oh, they also have fish fillet, seaweeds and other shells. The other viands, I do not care about. For dessert I only eat watermelon and pineapple but they also have little square cakes. Free iced tea and WIFI too.
Here are the reasons for my deductions:
-0.5 = Like I said, the place isn't fancy. Not something you'd post about. Although, I do take pictures of the food so I could drool on them. Haha!
-0.5 = Slow refills. Luckily, I am not the shy type. I really approach them and ask when they'd refill esp. when there are a lot of people waiting. I hate waiting.
-0.5 = So-so tasting crabs. Could be improved.
Would I come back here?
Are you kidding me? Of course I will!
Hope my review helps! 😊
A go-to place for seafood lovers who are on a tight budget. If you love baked scallops like me, you better check this place out now! People complain about the size of the scallops but it really doesnt matter because its unlimited!!! They taste really good, too. Unli crabs also offered but you really have to be prepared to get your hands dirty if you want to eat them.
All you can eat seafood. Value for money buffet restaurant where one can indulge in the typical Filipino comfort food. But the Mai attraction of these carinderia-style restaurant is their all you can eat Chili Crabs (alimasag). Don't forget your maintenance medicine.
Crabs, talaba and scallops unlimited
If you're in to that, then this is your place.
Other viands are just ordinary.
The crabs were good but underspiced kulang ng kick, pero ok na rin since its unli. Talaba was also a plus and the scallops. Bagoong rice didn't taste it but maybe you'll like it. They also have the tahong soup with "aninikad" but can't enjoy the aninikad because it's hard to "kuhit" haha. Their chicken and fish fillet were ok but stay away from it, save the real estate for the seafoods. Dessert biko and maha was served at that time, it was ok. All in all the experience was OK but won't go back if I am paying unless I'm craving for crabs. Just a tip. Be there before 6pm if going for dinner if you want to catch their larger crabs, and if you don't want to be on the waiting. It gets cramp up at the later hours.
This seafood restaurant has its best. Their buffet of seafood like crab was touched by sweet and spicy flavor. It was my favorite. And also their bagoong rice is the best! You can choose just a minimal of seafood but all of them is worth the pay of just only Php.300 if you really are a seafood lover.
I thought the food was just 299 per pax, but we paid 315 per pax for dinner~ It was so okay though, It still affordable! It's worth it! The food was good and as well as the staff. The waiter assisted us to our table and he put us in an air conditioned room ^_^ It wasn't that crowded when we got there. I loved the baked scallop, kinilaw na isda, green mango with bagoong, the chicken, the humba and the bico (yummy!) I was sooo full after~ Just too bad! I haven't seen any crab on that day. I was actually expecting it, As I've seen on some photos :( Anyway I'm very sure we'll be back again!
Totally worth it! Lunch is P285 while Dinner is P315, it's very affordable. Food was good, bloated to the next level. I'll bring my friends soon. Thank you! Till next time! 🙂
Update on the price: Lunch at 285, Dinner at 315 as of Feb 2017. - Tongs Seafood Restaurant
I'm no expert, but the food was good. Nothing exemplary. There were not that much choices of seafood dishes, as anticipated, but I still went home full. Of all the dishes, the friend chicken was the best.
Also, they had a great service crew! 👌🏼
Highly recommended for family gatherings as well. Should have a min of 30 persons to avail their "conference/guest" room or however you like to call it. 😊
I heard a lot about this retaurant from my colleagues way back but I didn't like their reviews that much like the food is not that fresh etc., so I decided not to give it a go just yet until my fiance invited me for a dinner buffet. The ambiance is "OK" but not impressive, if you own a car, there's enough parking space for you guys. I think if the owner can just upgrade the structure and the interior of the place it'll be more inviting, I just find the interior really dull..
nevertheless I like their food...
I love their buttered scallops like SOOOOOO MUCH! the butter that they used tastes really good,I think it's not just plain butter coz it tasted diffirently, I mean it still tastes like BUTTER but with a twist! :D :D . I thought basing on my colleagues review about their food , that the scallops are not that fresh but THEY ARE! ACTUALLY! :D If I compare it to Co Jordan's buttered scallops, Tong's are way way much better and tastier. Well, I only came here for their buttered scallops and I wasn't disapointed at all, the rest of their dishes are just "OK" .
I was a bit impressed with their service crews as there was this one lady that stands at the buffet table who gave me some "FYI's" about some of the dishes that they cooked like how they cook it and all.. so it's pretty awsome for me.
Overall.. I would say that for just P299.00/dinner buffet you will not go home disapointed. :)
