Affordable place to dine for Japanese food. I got the mapo tofu and sashimi set for 380. the sulit food here are the lunch set and set menu. Love the sashimi. The mapo tofu is spicy but good too. there are a lot of people inside, but you have a sure seat when you dine there. The waitresses are nice; but due to busyness inside, they might forget your order accidentally. overall, good.
Can’t find the set menu I ordered on the online menu! I had sashimi and sukiyaki. The sukiyaki had a surprisingly sweet broth. The beef were thinly sliced, soft, and quite enough. I couldn’t finish this bowl. I liked the sashimi, which I could say is fresh. I loved how they serve a small appetizer. Also, the place is suitable for solo diners.
BEST authentic japanese restaurant in cebu, no doubt. I could say that the quality from all of their branches stay consistent. it’s definitely a must-try to soothe your sushi roll cravings!
The food is perfect 😋😋😋 sarap to the bones. Service is also good, food was serve less than 10 minutes. The dishes are California Maki, Tempura Bento, Tonkatsu Bento and Beef Bento. They also have a sushi bar 😍 I can say the food is pricey but it's really worth it 👌🏻
Really surprised me with the food. Did not expect it to be that good. We ordered the tonkatsu, california maki, katsu kare, tuna sashimi, chicken teriyaki, gyoza, and miso soup. Everything was really really good except for the gyoza. I think there are better ones in Cebu. The only setback was that when the bill came, there were items that we didn't order that was included in the total bill. Good thing we checked. I know some restaurants try to do that b/c some customers don't bother to check the summary of their orders and just straight up pay the total w/o checking. Def would go back for the food.
Best and most authentic japanese sushi restaurant I've had so far. Definitely my only go to place for a good sushi craving. The salmon and shrimp sushi is a must!!
Good food, good service. This restaurant is just wonderful. Staff are alert and kind as well, which is an added bonus. Never had a bad experience there yet and I hope I won't get to experience one because I like eating there. I love bentos. Food is a bit pricey, but considering that it is a Japanese restaurant, it's nothing new. Kampai!
I loved Nonki before. I think it was 7 years ago. I thought only Nonki served real authentic Japanese foods in cebu. However, they have changed their taste of foods. I don't know why!!! I hope they will fix the taste like previous one.
When I think about Japanese food, it makes me feel clean hahaha maybe I'm just weird but yeah, I have always loved Japanese food. And here I am at Nonki SM.
Wasn't really hungry but I wanted to eat "okonomiyaki". I have always loved it. It's not just your typical pancake. You can put everything in it. From pork, squid or octopus, some vegetables and for the love of bacon. Bacon! And then topping it all off with a good slather of kewpie! The katsuoboshi (shaved tuna)was dancing as it entered my mouth.
And I think Nonki is one of the very few places who can make okonomiyaki right. Taste is really good, the octopus was tender, the pancake has the right of amount of saltiness into it.
Since they don't have Red Horse Beer hehehe I opted to have Asahi super dry it reminds me of our very own San Miguel Super Dry. And oh in the picture that's not water, that's shochu(a traditional Japanese hard liquor) mixed with water. Shochu can be made from either rice or grains. It's simular to vodka. Or maybe I'm a little buzzed from mixing the two hahaha
The only thing bad so far is the toilet, it smells (ehem) bad hehehe I think they have a problem with the pipes or something. I hope they get it fixed.
So, if you guys are craving for some near-to-authentic Japanese food, this is where you should go. They also have some bento which can fit your budget. So check them out. Until next time. Eat and be happy! For now, Itadakimasu!
Their prices are okay. Service is fast. The place maybe needs a little renovation. Ramen was tasty with good portions. The clientele was a mixed of Pinoys and foreigners especially Japanese and Korean guests. It means that they find the food authentic.
My major observation was the pork that was used for the tonkatsu, it had a smell. It tasted okay, there was just a smell to it.
Nonki is the BEST authentic Japanese restaurant in the city. Nothing can beat their sushi, california maki, and various bento dishes! I keep on recommending this to my family and friends. A tip though, you can order cheaper bentos for dinner at the SM City Cebu branch. You're welcome.

I've always loved Nonki for their legit Japanese dishes which is best excuse for their prices. Lol. Their's just this one experience (in this branch) when a friend of mine order a dish but the waitress didn't hear it so she ended up waiting for a couple of minutes for her food that wasn't gonna be served so she ordered again. Now, that wasn't good service.
Great option for Japanese in Cebu. Menu is very extensive. Got the sashimi and teppanyaki lunch set and it was fresh, great value, and good sized portions. Our meals came with miso soup and fruit which was a nice bonus.
